The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is set to expand its reach in Eastern Visayas through the establishment of satellite offices in various parts of the region.According to NBI Regional Director Atty. Emeterio Dongallo, Jr., the new satellite offices will be located in Catarman, Northern Samar; Naval, Biliran; Ormoc City; Calbayog City; Maasin City; Sogod, Southern Leyte; Dolores; and Balangkayan, Eastern Samar.These offices will offer a wide range of NBI services, including intelligence, forensic, investigation, and legal services.
In addition to the satellite offices, the NBI Regional Office in Tacloban City and its district office in Catbalogan City, Samar, will remain operational.
To address the increasing number of cybercrime cases, the NBI will also establish a Cybercrime Office in Eastern Visayas. This new office will focus on investigating and prosecuting cybercrime-related offenses.
Director Dongallo emphasized that the expansion of NBI services in Eastern Visayas is part of the agency’s modernization program. This includes the construction of a new office building and the renovation of the existing NBI building in Tacloban City.
Biliranons will soon have easier access to NBI services with the establishment of a satellite office in their town. This move is expected to enhance law enforcement efforts and improve public safety in the region.
