The Almeria Youth Development Office (YDO), in partnership with the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU) Extension Services Office and School of Technology and Computer Studies (STCS), kicked off a 2-day Digital Literacy Training with Cyber-Security Awareness for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons, Secretaries, and Treasurers on May 2, 2024.

Dr. Alvin L. Ampong, Director of the BiPSU Extension Services Office, Dr. Reynold Bustillo, Chairperson of the BSCS Program, Dr. Cheryl Ebajo, Chairperson of the BSIS Program, Hon. Lorenzo de la Cruz, Municipal Youth Development Officer of Almeria and a member of the BiPSU Board of Regents representing Senator Chiz Escudero, and other faculty members of STCS graced the opening ceremony.

Mr. Fernando Quiroz, a faculty member of STCS, serves as the resource person for the training, which aims to equip youth leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. The activity runs until May 3, 2024.

This collaboration between the Almeria LGU and BiPSU highlights the importance of empowering young people with digital literacy and cyber security awareness.
