The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Almeria, successfully conducted an orientation for the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) 2025 on December 06, 2024.
The orientation, led by Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Bernarda M. Saboy, gathered members of the CFLGA Inter-Agency Task Force (CFLGA-IMTF), including department heads of LGU Almeria and representatives from other concerned agencies.
MLGOO Saboy provided an in-depth overview of the CFLGA guidelines, focusing on key indicators and compliance requirements to prepare for the upcoming audit. She underscored the critical role of local government units in implementing child-friendly policies and programs that address children’s welfare, including health, education, protection, and participation. Participants engaged in discussions on strategies to enhance the municipality’s efforts in achieving a child-friendly governance environment. LGU officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring that Almeria remains a model municipality for child-friendly initiatives.
