The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Almeria has once again proven its excellence in governance by securing its second Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award. Following a stringent evaluation process, Almeria emerged as one of the three (3) municipalities in the province of Biliran to meet the high standards set by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the 2024 SGLG.
The prestigious award, which recognizes outstanding local government performance, will be officially conferred in December 2024 during the SGLG National Awarding Ceremony. This back-to-back achievement reflects the LGU’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and service delivery across key governance areas.
This marks the second time Almeria has received the SGLG award, having first achieved the honor in 2023. Mayor Richard D. Jaguros is grateful to the entire LGU workforce and the community, emphasizing that the recognition underscores the unity and hard work of everyone involved in local governance.
The SGLG serves as a benchmark for effective local government management, and Almeria’s consistent recognition positions it as a model municipality in the province.
