The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 proudly announces that Almeria is among the 134 local government units (LGUs) in Eastern Visayas that have been conferred with the Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) award for Calendar Year (CY) 2024. This recognition is part of a significant 12.6% increase in GFH passers compared to the previous year’s 119 passers.

Almeria, along with other municipalities, cities, and provinces, met the stringent criteria set by the Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS) under DILG. The criteria include:

1. Commission on Audit (COA) Audit Opinion: The most recent COA audit opinion must be Unqualified or Qualified, based on the annual audit report posted on the COA website as of September 27, 2024.

2. Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) Compliance: Timely and complete posting of required financial documents in three conspicuous places and the FDP Portal for the 2nd to 4th quarter of CY 2023 and 1st quarter of CY 2024.

Since its inception in 2010, the GFH has served as an essential assessment tool to measure the performance of local governments in the transparent use of public funds.

Congratulations to Almeria and all the Eastern Visayas GFH passers for your unwavering commitment to transparent fiscal governance!
